Terms and Conditions

The customer must read and agree to the terms and conditions before the rental.

The bikes are set up with the front brake on the left hand side. If you need the bike with the front brake on the right (UK) the bike has to be reserved 24 hours in advance, the cost is 5 euros for a mountain bike or 10 euros for a drop bar bike.

A valid ID (passport, driving license) must be shown when renting a bicycle.

A deposit of 100€ is required per bicycle, and it will be returned in full when you bring back the bicycle providing there is no damage or excess cleaning required.

The terms and conditions include the day, time, and place of delivery and return of the bicycle on your booking email.
The bicycles are delivered to the customer in perfect working condition.

If the bike is returned dirty and requires cleaning there is a 10 euro charge for the cleaning of the bike.

Locks, helmets, tool kit and spare inner tube are provided free of charge with the rental.

We advise the customers to wear a helmet. However, any customer under the age of eighteen should always wear the helmet.

If the rental is made by a person under the age of 18, the contract must be signed by a parent or a legal representative.

The customer is responsible for any damage, theft or loss of the bike and accessories, from the moment the bikes are handed to the customers and until they are returned to Bica Bikes.

In case of theft or loss of the bicycle during the rental period, the client should immediately contact Bica Bikes. The amount to pay will be set according to the grade of the rented bicycle. A stolen bike must also have a police report from the customer.

The customer will be held responsible for any damage caused to the rented material and will be required to pay Bica Bikes the full amount for parts, repairs and loss of earnings.

All call outs will be charged to the customer (minimum charge €25).

The customer must not lend/give the bicycle to another person who is not listed on the contract with Bica Bikes.

When the return of the bike is delayed, Bica Bikes has the right to charge €5 per hour of delay. After 24 hours of non-return of the rented bicycle it will be reported to the police for theft.

If there is a cancellation of the reservation with less than 72 hours full payment of the booking is required, more than 72 hours but less than 7 days is 50% of the booking, more than 7 days there is no charge.

Bica Bikes is not responsible for any accidents that occur by managing the bicycle in an incorrect way.

Bica Bikes recommends making sure you are aware of Portuguese road law before riding and you are required to obey the law whilst riding a bike.

Bica Bikes is not responsible for any health problems or injuries that occur during or after the rental.
